The parliamentarians of the Baltic Sea region want to initiate the establishment of a Baltic Sea Parliamentarians Youth Forum in order to promote political exchange between young people in the neighbouring states.
They passed a resolution to this effect at the 27th annual meeting of the Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference, which took place from 26 to 28 August 2018 in Mariehamn, the capital of the autonomous Finnish region of Åland. The four members of the Bundestag delegation, led by Johannes Schraps (SPD), presented a report (19/5949) to the Bundestag. The motto of the conference was “The Baltic Sea – our lifeline. Cooperation, sustainability and intelligent energy”.
