Starting on 9 June 2018, TT-Line will offer a combined freight and passenger service on the new connection between Trelleborg and the Lithuanian port city of Klaipėda. This connection is operated once a week and offers holidaymakers and the cargo service a direct and comfortable passage into the Baltic States.

The round trip starts weekly with a departure from Trelleborg on Saturday at 6:00 a.m. and reaches Klaipėda at 11:30 p.m. on the same day. The return journey starts in Klaipėda on Sunday at 01:30 o’clock with arrival at 17:30 o’clock in Trelleborg. Within the TT-Line route network, continuous journeys from Rostock to Klaipėda and from Klaipėda to Travemünde can also be booked.

“With the new TT-Line destination Klaipėda we are expanding our route network to the east to offer our existing customers a connection to the Baltic States, which are also popular as a holiday resort,” explains TT-Line freight manager Björn Saschenbrecker.

The new line will be operated by the “Tom Sawyer” and “Robin Hood” ferries and will continue to strengthen the southern Swedish port of Trelleborg as an important transport hub for the TT Line. Now, at the request of many customers, the Baltic States are being integrated into the route network. Klaipėda is Lithuania’s most important Baltic port because it is often ice-free all year round. Shipping companies call at it because of its central location in the Baltic States and the good hinterland connections. Klaipėda has about 160,000 inhabitants.
